The Division of Adult Institutions is recruiting to fill a Corrections Administrative Specialist position, located at Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
Position SummaryThis position is responsible for a wide range of duties related to compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This position will lead, oversee, and coordinate the ADA compliance efforts and is the ADA expert and key resource cifically, this position coordinates and monitors facility-based compliance: provides technical assistance: investigates complaints related to compliance monitoring of ADA laws and regulations: and leads internal procedure development.
This position conducts tasks in relationship to the goals and timelines established by the agency and the appointing authority. This position responds and coordinates general public records operations for Taycheedah Correctional Institution (TCI). Responsibilities include public records management
This position is in pay schedule/range 07-04 with a starting rate of $21.70 - $35.76, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the State Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Job DetailsApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
This position is not eligible to work remotely.
QualificationsMinimally qualified applicants will have experience:
- Collecting, analyzing, and managing sensitive/confidential materials.
- Conducting compliance monitoring, auditing, technical assistance, or program evaluation.
- Interpreting and applying policies and procedures
In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience:
- Working with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and accommodations
- Managing public records (reviewing, logging, processing, etc.)
