Position Overview

As part of the talented Mercury Marine team, the Inventory Control Analyst II manages materials and inventory control tasks including E‑Cycle counts, transactional processes, and material flow. The role provides administrative support and process control for these tasks.

Essential Functions
  • Outboard physical inventory management. Evaluate and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Produces daily inventory count via the E‑Cycle program.
  • Assists in warehouse data management in relation to the Plan for Every Part.
  • Reviews and analyzes inventory reports.
  • Reviews with Finance Team to oversee cycle count and inventory inaccuracies while maintaining acceptable levels of accuracy and count volume throughout the year.
  • Assists with Shipping and Receiving discrepancies.
  • Assists in the Management of Kan Ban marketplaces.
  • Regularly reviews exception reports for key inventory data.
  • Provides data entry and analysis for Inventory Control functions.
  • Coordination of Outboard holds and rework.
  • Monthly purchase order maintenance.
  • Identifies and implements continuous improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures relating to Material and Inventory Control.
  • Strong data entry and analysis skills required.
  • Requires above average computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft applications and other data mining/reporting tools including Power BI.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–4 years of experience in the field or in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a complex and changing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of organization.
  • Possess good analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma methodology, Green Belt certification preferred.
  • PIMS Information Management Systems.
  • Warehouse Management Systems.
  • CPIM/CPM Certification.
  • Previous experience in a repetitive manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
  • Works in a combined office and warehouse/production‑floor environment. Required to walk warehouse floors, inspect storage areas, conduct cycle counts, and verify physical stock accuracy.
  • May require occasional early morning, late evening, or weekend work, especially during physical inventory counts, audit, or month‑end/quarter‑end shipping periods.
  • Primarily desk‑based analytical work but includes periodic physical activity, such as walking, and bending to inspect inventory locations.
  • Must be comfortable working on warehouse floors at times when conducting verifications or resolving discrepancies.
  • Works in a fast‑paced, accuracy‑driven environment where errors can affect shipping and production schedules, customer satisfaction, or financial results.
  • Must quickly troubleshoot discrepancies, data issues, shipment delays, and process bottlenecks as they arise. Investigating discrepancies and suggesting implementation of improvements to inventory control procedures.
Compensation & Benefits

The hiring range for this position is $54,300 – $75,400 annually. Additional benefits include a discretionary bonus, medical, dental, vision, paid vacation, 401(k) up to 4% match, Health Savings Account with company contribution, well‑being program, product purchase discounts, and more.
