Mechanical Estimator
A strong mechanical contractor is looking to bring on a Mechanical Estimator who is responsible for accurately estimating costs associated with mechanical projects, including HVAC and piping systems, within commercial and industrial sectors. This role aims to provide precise cost assessments to facilitate project planning and execution, ensuring profitability and adherence to budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans and specifications to determine mechanical estimate requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC, piping, and related mechanical systems.
- Analyze labor, materials, and overhead costs to create comprehensive bids.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accuracy in estimates.
- Utilize software tools like Trimble and Auto Bid for efficient estimation processes.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather information necessary for accurate estimates.
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimating tools to reflect current market conditions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- At least 3 years of proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping systems, and commercial/industrial construction.
- Proficiency in estimating software, including Trimble and Auto Bid.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills to ensure accurate cost assessments.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.
