- Lead and manage supplier quality activities for cast and machined components
. - Drive APQP, PPAP, and Engineering Change Management activities at supplier locations.
- Provide hands-on technical support to suppliers to identify root causes, resolve quality issues, and improve process capability.
- Support New Product Development (NPD), product launches, and production ramp-up activities.
- Conduct supplier audits, process assessments, and quality system evaluations.
- Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and ensure timely and sustainable resolution of supplier quality issues.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as the technical interface between suppliers, manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams.
- Develop and implement effective quality improvement strategies at supplier facilities.
- Support containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
Required Technical Skills & Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience with casting manufacturing processes
, including: - Sand Casting
- Other high-pressure casting processes
- Strong knowledge of aluminum casting processes and defect identification
. - Experience with machining of engineered components
. - Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and process controls.
- Proven experience in Supplier Quality Engineering/Management
. - Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies, root-cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and 8D methodologies.
- Ability to identify practical, shop-floor-level solutions and work directly with supplier manufacturing teams.
- Strong understanding of quality standards and manufacturing best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
. - 7-10+ years of relevant experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, operations, or quality engineering.
- Demonstrated experience working with casting and machining suppliers
. - Strong experience with aluminum casting processes is highly preferred.
- Ability to analyze technical problems and drive solutions independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
