As a Retail Loan Underwriter, you will perform a variety of credit‑related functions involving the analysis and evaluation of retail loan products. This role is responsible for helping minimize risk and potential loss to the bank by applying established underwriting guidelines. You will also communicate with lenders and processors to ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate. Initial training for this position will be conducted in our Fond du Lac office, after which a hybrid work arrangement may be available.

The following skills and attributes are needed to be successful in your banking career as a Retail Loan Underwriter:

• Understanding of state, CFPB and OCC regulations to ensure all documentation is accurate and falls within legal guidelines preferred but not required.
• Must be able to work independently, accurately and maintain good customer relations with the ability to adapt to varying customer and transactional volume. Must be able to quickly re‑establish priorities, responding to the changing needs of the department.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal forms.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:

• 3–7 years of mortgage or retail loan underwriting experience required
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience or industry certifications) is preferred
• Encompass or similar Loan Origination System experience
