Field Service Technician - North Central

Scope And Responsibilities- Install, demonstrate, qualify, repair, or alter independently Fives machines (mechanically, electrically, and CNC) or associated equipment in customer facilities following verbal or written instructions from Tech Support, Service Coordinator or Service Manager, or service documentation.
- Operate machines and associated equipment in customer facilities to demonstrate or qualify equipment, or observe qualification runs conducted by customer personnel, ensuring machine accuracy and quality meet specifications.
- Notify Tech Support or Service Coordinator of deviations from specifications or encountered problems, and write complete service reports in accordance with procedures.
- Instruct customer personnel to operate, maintain and/or repair machines and equipment while emphasizing safety precautions, and notify the customer of any unsafe operating practices observed.
- Provide input for the improvement and development of company products.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Work overtime and/or on off-shifts as required by business needs.
- Interact with other people on a routine basis.
- Spend majority of time on the road visiting customers and vendors, both nationally and internationally.
Physical demands: regularly use hands to finger and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms, taste or smell; occasionally stand, walk, sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally more than 100 pounds. Specific vision ability required: color vision.
Work environment: exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather, risk of electrical shock and vibration; noise level usually loud.
Education & Certification- Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent, or two to four years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license; ability to obtain a passport and credit card.
- Ability to read and understand international print symbols.
- Ability to use general hand tools.
- Read, analyze, and write reports based on general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
- Apply mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Good working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet generation software, and internal service and communication systems.
- Maintain a positive attitude, clean and neat appearance, and willingness to converse positively and interactively with others, while committing to the highest quality of work.
