Monday through Thursday (10-hour shifts)
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
2nd Shift: 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM
Hours are subject to change based on customer demand.
Position SummaryThermoforming is the process of applying heat to plastic sheeting, which then enters a mold. Positive and negative pressures are applied to the mold to form a part. The formed part proceeds to a trimming station and then to an up-stacker for inspection. The purpose of this position is to safely and accurately operate thermoforming machines to ensure that products meet customer quality specifications.
EssentialFunctions
- Perform and record measurable quality checks by measuring critical customer requirements per CAD drawing using a caliper.
- Perform tooling changeover.
- Perform all essential functions of the Thermoformer to produce a quality product.
- Troubleshoot all defects independently and make corrections in a timely manner.
- Run product efficiently to meet and/or exceed scrap rate.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
- Identify potential tooling and/or machine needs or repair.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks.
- Train new Operators.
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and age groups.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Ability to guide inspectors/packers within the Thermoforming area.
- Ability to read and follow production schedules.
- Commitment to continuous process improvement and cost savings initiatives.
- PLC knowledge is a must.
The essential functions and qualifications are minimal expectations, not limits.
Prior Experience- Thermoforming experience is preferred but willing to train the right candidate
- Sencorp experience is a definite plus Skill in reading measuring devices
- Previous tooling design is a plus
- High school Diploma or GED required
This position is required to stand and /or walk 100% of the time. This position is required to use hands to handle or touch 100 of the time. This position does require the individual to bend at the waist with twisting motions respectively thought the shift. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus to identify defects are required from this position.
Steel toe shoes are required to work in this department
