2nd Shift Press Brake Operator

The 2nd Shift Press Brake Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by accurately bending and shaping metal components according to precise specifications. Working Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., this position ensures production goals are met by operating press brake machinery safely, efficiently, and with a strong focus on quality and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Operate press brake machinery to bend and form metal components according to detailed technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Set up press brake equipment, including selecting and installing appropriate tooling, dies, and fixtures for each job.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints and technical drawings to achieve precise dimensions, bend angles, and tolerances.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify part dimensions and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Perform basic calculations to determine bend angles, dimensions, and material allowances required for each job.
  • Monitor machine performance during operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Follow OSHA safety regulations and best practices while operating equipment and working on the production floor.
  • Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications, and identify any defects or issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety, efficiency, and smooth workflow on the production line.
  • Collaborate with team members and shift personnel to meet production schedules and support continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Essential Skills
  • Previous experience operating press brake machinery or similar metal fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with CNC press brake programming and operation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating bend angles and dimensions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with shift work.
  • Blueprint reading skills.
  • Press brake operation skills.
  • Metal fabrication skills.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in press brake operation or metal fabrication is a plus.
  • Experience with CNC equipment in a production environment.
  • Ability to work consistently on a 2nd shift schedule, Monday through Thursday 4:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a production team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
