Position Overview
As a Support Tech II, you will join a dynamic team supporting the Mercury Marine values of Integrity, Customer Centricity, Product & Service Leadership, Sustainability, and Employee Engagement by producing high-quality in-board and out-board marine engines.
Essential FunctionsThe Support Tech II job class includes a variety of roles operating forklifts for manufacturing operations such as machining, coating, assembly, shipping, receiving, and warehouse. It also includes lineside delivery of small parts to assembly lines and various warehouse roles such as receiving, shipping, and operations using forklifts and narrow-aisle lift trucks to support manufacturing.
Daily tasks include indirect support of manufacturing operations for large and small part replenishment to machining cells, coating operations, and assembly lines. Equipment used includes sit-down and stand-up forklifts, narrow-aisle forklifts, powered delivery carts, and manual lifting devices. Support Tech II employees participate in daily 5S+1 activities to maintain a clean and organized work area and promote a safe environment.
Duties and Responsibilities- Forklift Operators – Deliver large parts using an industrial truck to various operations throughout Plant 15, following plant safety rules and maintaining 5S+1 principles. Support quality and productivity activities as needed.
- Lineside Operators – Deliver small parts using powered delivery carts and tow-behind wagons to assembly operations, following plant safety rules and 5S+1 principles. Operate Kanban and Mercury’s material replenishment system.
- Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Operations – Replenish parts to/from off-site warehouses to support daily manufacturing functions. Receive and ship parts, maintain markets, and support internal delivery needs while following 5S+1 principles.
Ability to drive material delivery equipment in a manufacturing environment; training and certification will be provided. Prior forklift experience is a plus but not required. Prior warehouse experience is a plus but not required. General computer skills are required; training will be given for the systems used. Prior experience using Kanban is a plus but not required.
SalaryThe hiring rate for this position is $26.49 per hour.
