Position Overview:As a Fuel Systems Lab Technician, you will be a critical member of the Mechanical Development team within Mercury Marine's new product development organization responsible for the execution of fuel systems testing.
Essential Functions:- Support fuel system testing needs for both new and current product
- Prepare, instrument, & install fuel system components on either test bench, tank, or engine dyno to achieve test objectives
- Set-up data acquisition systems to record test data and ensure data collected is of high quality
- Lead engine installation, instrumentation, and installation of special fuel system test hardware for dyno testing across all engine platforms
- Independently design and conduct engine level fuel system tests in tank or dyno as needed
- Document test results and assist in creating or improving standardized test procedures
- Fabricate & maintain component test fixtures electrical, mechanical, & plumbing
- Troubleshoot fuel system components on bench and on engine
- Organize and clean fuel systems lab as needed
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Exceptional attention to detail, especially crucial with written documentation and data recording
- Proficient in the use of related precision tools and measurement equipment (i.e. current shunts, pressure sensor calibration, data acquisition software)
- Proficient in disassembly/assembly of sealed fluid systems
- Proficient in internal combustion engine disassembly, assembly, troubleshooting and theory of operation
- Ability to set up and conduct dyno testing independently
- Previous experience conducting engine dynamometer corner condition, performance, or emissions testing
- Basic machining, welding, and fabrication experience
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Associate's degree in Engineering or a Technical field
- Familiarity with AVL Puma software
The anticipated pay range for this position is $62,800-$90,500 annually.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.
