You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.
About the roleYou will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. You will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and provide center‑level support for environmental, health, and safety.
How you will contribute- Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal influenza vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- State licensure or certification in EMT‑Paramedic.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑ and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
