The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill three part time Nurse Clinician 3 positions. These positions are based out of Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

90% NC3 position: 9:45 AM - 10:15 PM, three 12 hour shifts per week, working every 3rd weekend.

90% NC3 position: 5:45 PM - 6:15 AM, three 12 hour shifts per week, working every 3rd weekend.

90% NC3 Weekend position:
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 5:45 PM - 6:15 AM

the Nurse Clinician 3 is responsible for providing complex skilled nursing care to patients.

This may include both general population and infirmary settings. This position provides direct care to patients that have unique complex health conditions, or palliative/terminal illnesses that prevent them from residing in the General Population. The Nurse Clinician 3 will follow the nursing process and utilize the Correctional Nursing Standards in their practice.

The Nurse Clinician 3 will utilize theoretical and evidence-based knowledge of experiences and responses to collaborate with patients to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate care.

This position is in pay schedule and range 11-01 with a starting pay of $47.04/hour - $57.23/hour
. The rate offered within this range will relate to years of licensure/credentialing as a registered nurse. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

Candidates with no prior permanent employment with the State of Wisconsin in the past 5 years may be eligible to accept a sign-on bonus of $3,000. The sign-on bonus will be paid in two installments: $1500 on the first paycheck and $1500 with the paycheck for the pay period in which the employee attains permanent status (usually 1 year). (UW System employment isn’t disqualifying.)

To receive the bonus , a candidate must sign an agreement indicating they will remain in that position for a year . If the candidate leaves their position prior to completing the one year, they may be required to reimburse the initial payment.

Substantial leave time including at least 3.5 weeks of vacation to start, 9 paid holidays, and ample accrued sick time that rolls over each year.
