Center Store Assistant Manager-PM
The Center Store Assistant Manager-PM provides operational and leadership support across multiple departments—including Grocery, Frozen/Dairy, Natural & Organic, and Health & Beauty Care (HBC)/General Merchandise (GM)—flexibly shifting focus based on daily business needs. The Center Store Assistant plays an important role in maintaining department standards, ensuring accurate inventory levels and pricing, and supporting afternoon and night shift operations. Through collaboration with Center Store leadership, the Center Store Assistant Manager-PM adapts based on priorities, and works alongside associates to train, guide, and ensure exceptional guest experiences.
Essential duties and responsibilities include leading and supporting Center Store departments, ensuring leadership continuity, training associates, meeting department standards, communicating and collaborating, verifying timekeeping, providing helpful guest service, maintaining cleanliness, delivering feedback, being cashier trained, honoring commitments, and supporting the team.
Qualifications include a high school education or equivalent combination of education and experience, 2+ years of leadership experience in retail, grocery, warehouse, or restaurant, thorough knowledge of the retail food business, familiarity with store operations, ability to make timely and effective decisions, understanding of safety requirements, and proper training and knowledge of equipment.
Physical demands and work environment include standing for long periods, walking, bending, stooping, and kneeling; fine finger and broad manual dexterity; lifting stock; performing repetitive tasks; functional sensory abilities; lifting up to 50-60 pounds occasionally; working in varying temperatures and humidity levels; and moving between temperature-controlled areas, freezers, coolers, and the receiving area.
Work schedule includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
