Counter Sales Associate (Open) - Fond du Lac, WI
We are looking for a Counter Sales Associate to join our team in a role that balances high-energy customer interaction with meaningful operational support. If you enjoy solving problems and building relationships in a dynamic, industrial environment, we want to meet you!
Responsibilities- Partner with customers to provide industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and essential supplies.
- Serve as a trusted guide, advising customers on tools, hardware, and materials needed to complete projects.
- Demonstrate equipment use and share insights on product quality.
- Adhere to company policies including safety and personal protective equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external partners.
- Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.
- Manage order entry and process transactions; assist with deposit reconciliation.
- Coordinate with customers and team members via phone, e‑mail, and in person regarding costs and delivery.
- Support outgoing call strategy to promote branch growth.
- Coordinate transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere and support colleagues, vendors, and customers.
- Stock shelves and maintain showroom displays for excellent customer experience.
- Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2+ years experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced setting.
- Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus.
- Attention to detail in handling transactions.
- Availability for occasional overtime when needed.
- Must be able to operate in a drug‑free workplace.
- Background in gas, welding, or safety supplies.
- Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office applications.
- Detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities.
- Clear and warm communication with a wide variety of people.
- Competitive tip and base salary at $23.50 per hour plus bonus opportunities.
