Position Overview
Develop and manage Mercury Marine dealer network within your sales zone. Build relationships with dealers, OEMs, and customers, create and execute strategic territory growth plans, coach and consult dealers to increase sales volume, market share, and profitability. Monitor weekly reports, conduct dealer calls, visits, inventory checks, and participate in boat shows and sales meetings. Use CRM tools to manage customer accounts.
EssentialFunctions
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing Mercury Marine dealers and prospective new dealers.
- Coach, manage, consult, and grow dealer sales with measurable objectives. Exhibit strong business acumen.
- Serve as internal and external expert on customer, market, and competitive intelligence, using data to identify opportunities.
- Communicate findings to dealers, negotiate, and protect interests.
- Travel to multiple dealer locations; at least 60% of travel must be overnight.
- Collaborate with inside account representatives, service and credit personnel to achieve sales goals.
- Attend Mercury-sponsored events, boat shows, open houses, and dealer events, typically on weekends.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant business experience within the Marine or Recreational Industry, or in Sales, Business, or Marketing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet, and CRM systems.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel at least 60% overnight.
- Strong data analysis and computer skills with the ability to understand and analyze trends.
- Strategic and tactical problem‑solving abilities.
- High sense of urgency, low ego, and high confidence; credible and persuasive under resistance.
- Overnight travel required.
- Occasional weekend events.
- Annual base pay range: $86,500 – $139,300 (actual pay depends on experience and location).
- Eligibility for a short‑term incentive program.
