Job Summary

Provides a reasonably safe and secure environment for staff, patients, visitors, and premises, and serves as first responders to urgent facility matters.

• Conduct interior and exterior rounds to protect property and staff, observe safety and security issues, and monitor parking lots.
• Promote visitor and employee safety by performing door checks, detecting lighting deficiencies, confirming elevator operation, assisting with disruptive individuals, and providing escorts as requested.
• Respond to overdue pages or assistance requests, escort emergency personnel, and provide post‑mortem services.
• Deliver professional customer service in complex, dynamic situations, identify safety hazards, and communicate with clinical staff.
• Observe and report security concerns or assessments.
• Complete incident reports and shift logs and forward them to appropriate individuals.
• Assist with maintenance through property conservation, such as alarm testing, checking life‑safety equipment, AEDs, oxygen tanks, fire extinguishers, access control, badging, and door integrity checks.
• Enforce organizational policies and procedures.
• Review and investigate incidents using video management systems.
• Operate motor vehicles for patrolling (as needed).
• Maintain constant alertness and ensure safe operations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED, or 10 years of work experience.
• Must successfully complete a psychological assessment following a conditional offer of employment.

• Constant use of hearing and vision for alarms and machinery.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 0‑25lb items continuously.
• Frequent use of speech and lifting 25‑50lb items.
• Frequent standing, twisting, walking, and use of vision to judge distances.
• Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, sitting, squatting, reaching, gripping, and repetitive hand/arm movements.
• Occasional lifting 50lb+ items, keyboard use/Data entry, smell detection, and driving.
• Rare crawling, running, and lifting/moving patients.

• Illinois:
  Driving Record – Motor Vehicle Report (MVR);
  Driver License issued in the United States;
  Firearm Owner Identification Card (FOID – Illinois State Police);
  Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation); or Active Law Enforcement Officer – Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board (ILETSB).
• Missouri (all counties except St.Charles):
  Driving Record – MVR;
  Driver License issued in the United States.
• Missouri – St.Charles County:
  Driving Record – MVR;
  Driver License issued in the United States;
  Security Officer License – St.Charles County or St.Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
• Oklahoma, Wisconsin:
  Driving Record – MVR;
  Driver License issued in the United States.
