Overview

Walmart is looking for a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repair of refrigeration and HVAC equipment in local retail stores. The role utilizes commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills with hand, digital, and power tools to complete jobs and ensure high service standards.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.
• Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and associates, and document repair activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart's refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights.

• 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I, Type II, or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2‑year experience in mechanical maintenance or construction for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• 4‑year experience in a similar field is also acceptable.
• Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC‑R/Mechanical Journeyman certification where required.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Ability to read and speak English as required by federal regulations.
• Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions in the last five years.
• No more than two moving violations in the last three years.
• Completion of a 2‑year technical HVAC/R program.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
• Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00–$58.00. Additional premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Compensation details will meet or exceed applicable minimum wage laws.
