Electricians perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, and perform related work as required.
Essential knowledge, duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Thorough knowledge of electrical methods, practices, and principles in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment; laws, rules and regulations pertaining to electrical codes and their application; occupational hazards and safe work practices.
* Installation, maintenance and repair of electrical and emergency systems in municipal facilities; including worn and obsolete equipment.
* Installation and maintenance of electronic traffic controls and street light systems.
* Read plans, specifications, rough sketches and layouts
* Locate underground city-owned electrical systems.
* Maintain clerical, activity, financial, and other records as required.
* Understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
* Establish and maintain effective public and working relationships.
Position requires:
* Graduation from high school and four or more years of experience in electrical construction and maintenance work.
* Special requirements include possession of a Journeyman Electrician license issued by the State of Wisconsin and a valid Wisconsin Commercial "Class B" Driver's License without air brakes restriction.
Training requirements include confined space entry, Basic First Aid and CPR.

PAID TIME OFF:
We offer a generous paid time off package including compensatory time in lieu of overtime, 9 standard holidays, 5 floating holidays, sick leave (8 hours/month); and vacation schedule based on previous career and field experience.
SALARY RANGE:
We offer a competitive compensation package $32.75 - $34.98 based upon knowledge, skills, and abilities with potential to receive additional step increases based on meeting and/or exceeding goals/expectations; annual COLA and step increases pending City Council approval of budgets; and future promotional opportunities in alignment with succession and career path.
