Maintenance Technician
This nonexempt role performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and fleet/safety inspections on motorized vehicles, small engines, and heavy equipment, under general supervision, adhering to equipment guidelines, safety standards, and company policy.
Repair vehicles and equipment, including brakes, engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, ignitions, air/exhaust systems, and axle assemblies
Inspect, diagnose, and determine the most cost-effective repair or replacement approach
Conduct required tests, certifications, and documentation on equipment
Respond to internal customers, explaining maintenance/repair plans and scheduling routine and preventive maintenance
Perform metalwork and fabrication on equipment
Maintain equipment/vehicle records and daily service logs
Diagnose, dismantle, and repair tools and machinery
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of technical auto mechanic training (combined experience/education considered)
Mechanical aptitude
Willingness to learn through on-the-job training
Forklift operation and welding skills
Computer skills (MS Office, internet search, tablet, scanning tool)
Ability to operate light, medium, and heavy equipment/tools, hand tools, automotive lifts, and hydraulic equipment
Strong attention to detail and safety standards
Ability to respond quickly and solve problems in emergency repair situations
Strong communication and customer service skills
Regular walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching; frequent sitting and hand use; lifting up to 90 lbs. (waist to chest), carrying 50 lbs. over 50 ft., pushing a 100 lb. wheeled cart over 100 ft., and dragging 50 lbs. over 100 ft.; full range of vision abilities.
Production environment with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and machinery noise (moderate to loud). Overtime may be required.
