Join our Team! CESA 6 is searching for a vibrant, self‑motivated person to be our Individualized Youth Services (IYS) Youth Mentor. Locations are in Oshkosh, WI and Fond du Lac, WI. This part‑time position offers flexible scheduling and a wage of $16.50 per hour.

Overview

As a mentor, you will work directly with youth by supporting them behaviorally, socially, and emotionally. You will serve our youth clients in a variety of settings, providing quality services to meet the needs of each individual.

Essential Functions
  • Provide direct services and constant supervision to clients, following each client’s individualized service plan.
  • Work one‑on‑one with clients to help resolve personal, social, and emotional issues, fostering positive behavioral and social growth.
  • Engage in activities and services alongside clients, ensuring a supportive and interactive environment.
  • Accurately document all services provided.
  • Safely manage crisis situations to ensure the safety of the client and others.
  • Administer and log medication, ensuring proper care and adherence to each client’s service plan.
  • Assist with meal preparation and clean‑up, following safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Comply with all transportation and vehicle policies, ensuring the safe transportation of clients.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, contributing to team discussions and ongoing improvement.
  • Take on other responsibilities as needed, adapting to the dynamic needs of the clients and the program.
Other Functions
  • Maintain facility resources with care and respect, taking on cleaning tasks and assisting with general upkeep as needed.
  • Follow proper incident reporting procedures, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of any occurrences.
  • Commit to personal and professional growth by seeking feedback, staying informed on best practices, and continuously improving your skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications Experience, Education and Licensure
  • High school diploma is required. Additional education is preferred.
  • All program‑specific required training is provided through the program upon hire, including county specific training.
  • Prior experience working with youth and/or emotional behavioral disabilities is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required.

Work Environment
  • Ability to work from multiple settings, including several programs and CESA 6 office locations.
  • Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical Demands
  • The employee is regularly required to communicate effectively in person, via phone and in writing.
  • The employee may occasionally lift or move equipment up to 20 pounds.
