Program Aides - Head Start – Fond du Lac

ADVOCAP, Inc., is an established, recognized leader with over 60 years of experience in delivering effective anti‑poverty and self‑sufficiency programs and services. We are a private, nonprofit Community Action Agency committed to our mission of “creating opportunities for people and communities to reduce poverty and increase self‑sufficiency.”

Responsibilities
  • Assist in monitoring child health and safety.
  • In consultation with the supervisor and teacher, implement behavior management strategies to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all bus monitoring expectations, acting as a bus monitor on assigned routes.
  • Ensure compliance requirements for meal/snack service.
  • Engage with assigned children and families.
  • Be available to work early morning and later evening hours, occasional Fridays and weekends.
Required Experience or Qualifications
  • Completion of an Early Childhood course within 6 months of hire, or related equivalent at the time of hire.
  • Special needs experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule of possibly varying duties at various locations in the Fond du Lac area.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • CPR certified or willing to obtain.
  • Physical/tb/drug screen and comprehensive background check required.
  • Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic.
Pay and Benefits

Hourly. This part‑time position will work 28 hours per week, Monday–Thursday with occasional Fridays and weekends. Starting pay is $14.50 per hour, depending on experience. The position is for the program year, with summers off and will start in mid‑August. Benefits include vacation, sick and holiday pay, and a retirement/401(k) option.
