Description
We are expanding and growing our team of Local CDL Drivers. We are a local family‑owned company where people and culture matter! Our local CDL Truck Drivers transport materials to and from customers, with hours that fit your schedule—be home every night. We offer a Monday through Friday schedule that is an excellent opportunity for year‑round work.

- Safely operate a commercial truck, following traffic laws and company policies, employing defensive driving techniques to ensure safety while adhering to hours‑of‑service regulations.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, report mechanical issues to ensure proper functionality and minimize downtime.
- Load, unload and secure cargo, follow delivery schedules, verify documentation and obtain necessary signatures.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers and stakeholders, addressing inquiries and reporting feedback.
- Adhere to transportation and safety regulations, including weight limits, hazardous materials, and driving restrictions, and maintain required certifications.
- Respond to emergencies, accidents or breakdowns following company protocols, and report incidents promptly.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures, wearing appropriate PPE and securing loads.
- Stop truck at predetermined locations to collect or deliver metals or refuse. May manually load or unload materials and operate automated lifting mechanisms.
- Extensive knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations.
- Knowledge of hydraulic lugger, roll‑off, and end‑dump trailer operation.
- Train others in safe truck and equipment operation.
- Good verbal and written communication; interact professionally with customers.
- Work well independently and in a team.
- Problem‑solve and learn quickly.
- Negotiate and settle differences quickly and peacefully.
- Operate heavy machinery and handle equipment safely.
- Complete safety awareness training.
Education and Experience /Training
- At least two years of related experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class A Commercial Motor Vehicle License.
- Clean motor vehicle record.
- CDL Hazardous Materials Endorsement (Preferred).
- Certification as a Tier 1 CDL driver.
- Pass and maintain a DOT physical exam.
- Lifting: must be able to lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Work physically demanding: climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, carrying, stooping.
- Good hand‑eye coordination and balance; perform tasks requiring use of arms and legs.
- Work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Meet DOT physical requirements and wear protective equipment for eye and ear.
- Operate vehicles in all weather conditions and terrains; tolerate noise and smells associated with plant.
