Electrical Engineer
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Electrical Engineer located in Fontana, CA.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical design, development, and calculations of assigned manufacturing projects. This role will create robust and manufacturable designs, support product development activities, and work cross-functionally to ensure all electrical solutions meet functional, quality, and customer requirements.
What a typical day looks like:
- Review customer specifications to create drawings and bill of materials for assigned projects within budget, including the selection of parts
- Design single line diagrams, schematic and wiring diagrams for power distribution, including network diagrams for communication and automation.
- Generate detailed substation control house wiring drawings based on customer-supplied guidance schematic.
- Design and perform load calculations for power distribution systems.
- Work with Purchasing and Vendors to receive quotes and lead times to complete design.
- Work with the mechanical engineering department to secure an integrated product design.
- Provide engineering support to production departments during all stages of manufacturing.
- Coordinate with customers regarding specification/design questions and clarifications.
- Provide suggestions on areas of improvement to standardize and increase the efficiency surrounding production.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- At least 5 years of related work experience preferably in electrical power systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent budgeting and cost containment skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment
- Strong knowledge of standard electrical testing and measuring equipment.
- Knowledge of Electrical Safety Procedures, NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI Codes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD or related software.
