Panel Department Lead
Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, Axiom, with the spin planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support Axiom, a company focused on critical digital infrastructure and delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Panel Department Lead in USA Fontana, Ca. Report to the Production Manager, Panel Department Lead, is responsible for leading a team of employees in completing assigned manufacturing projects.
What a typical day looks like:
- Oversee the work of assigned team employees
- Addresses minor discipline problems with team members; refers more serious cases to the supervisor
- Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new team members in partnership with the training specialist and team trainer
- Collaborate with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience
- Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments
- Inspects work performed by team members
- Track and logs worker's time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes; ensure they are aligned with panel production scheduled hours
- Partner with supervisor or production manager to resolve any issues that arise within department.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Coordinate work with other department leads to ensure projects are manufactured on time
- Coordinate with continuity test team to fulfill testing requirements for projects to meet manufacturing completion date
- Provide updates to internal departments (ex. PM, QA, EE, ME ect.) on the status of each manufacturing project, including new proposed completion date, material shortages, etc.
- Ensure projects are tagged with item number and ETA for missing parts of the project
- Ensure work order packets are organized to company standards
- Coordinate with 2nd shift, if needed, to help complete a project on deadline
- Complete assemblies, sub-assemblies, and wiring for manufacturing projects, as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 4 years of experience in manufacturing, electrical wiring, or related field
- Prior experience in effectively leading a team of employees
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform work accurately
- Knowledge of manufacturing, equipment maintenance, and safety management
- Reading comprehension skills with the ability to interpret and follow written directions, blueprints, and engineering diagrams
- Basic math skills to meet technical specifications and measurements
- Basic understanding of tools (ex. Tape measure, impact drill, etc.)
What the physical requirements are:
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, kneeling, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 35 pounds at a time.
- Must wear PPE, such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, while working on the production floor

The base pay range for this position is provided below. The final base rate offered will be determined using job-related, non-discriminatory criteria, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, geographic location, education, external market data, and internal equity.
$21.68 USD - $29.81 USD Hourly
