Key Responsibilities:
- Complete comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and regularly throughout your shift, considering the physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of each individual.
- Develop and continuously update individualized care plans; reassess and document patient progress and responses to interventions.
- Safely administer medications, closely monitor effects, and maintain strict adherence to protocols for high-risk drugs.
- Conduct and document treatments and nursing procedures following infection control, hospital policy, and patient privacy standards.
- Educate patients and families using evidence-based resources and tailor teaching to assessed needs.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary planning; communicate clinical changes swiftly and effectively using SBAR methods.
- Maintain compliance with safety goals, orientation to emergency protocols, and documentation standards for all patient interactions.
- Manage care for patients of all ages, prioritizing needs in critical and routine situations within the Emergency Department.
- Stay current with required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC (TNCC/ATCN/CEN preferred).
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of one year recent ER experience
- Proven competency across the age continuum-birth to geriatrics
- Completion of ED skills checklist by first scheduled shift
- Strong communication, assessment, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of rapid response, lifesaving protocols, and ED flow dynamics
