Sales associate

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers promptly, acknowledging and helping them efficiently.
• Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, and offering recommendations.
• Promote store events and promotions to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
• Resolve customer concerns, using product knowledge to offer alternative solutions and turn returns into exchanges when possible.
• Communicate needs to management, reporting merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve overall store and company objectives, supporting a positive and productive work environment.

• At least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts.
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology such as cash registers and handheld devices.
• Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers.
• Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally.
• Use basic information‑gathering skills to solve problems.
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on‑the‑job training.

• Frequently operate the cash register.
• Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to a height of 5–10 feet.
• Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
• Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
• Frequently communicate and exchange information with customers on the telephone and face‑to‑face in the store, as well as with managers and coworkers.
• Frequently move across the sales floor assisting customers, and to and from the stock room to retrieve and put away merchandise.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include day, evening, weekends, overnight shifts, and travel as required.
• Must be able to identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
