Admission Counselor
Waldorf University is seeking an Admission Counselor to join our fun, dynamic, and student-focused Office of Admissions team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the University's mission and enrollment goals. The Admission Counselor will manage an assigned recruitment territory—primarily within the Midwest, but also including areas outside the region—while helping ensure a welcoming and engaging experience for every student, from first contact through graduation.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the University at high schools, community colleges, university fairs, and other recruitment events.
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective students, families, and school counselors through in-person visits, phone calls, email, social media, and mail.
- Provide counseling to students and parents about the admissions process, academic programs, and student life.
- Review and evaluate student application materials for admission decisions.
- Recruit primarily residential students, while also assisting with online programs, PSEO, and Start Point initiatives.
- Collaborate with Admissions colleagues to develop strategies that support enrollment goals.
- Bachelor's degree required; prior experience at a four-year residential university preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and public presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel several weeks each fall and spring; ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access).
- Professional demeanor with the ability to represent the University positively.
- Flexibility to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Positive, engaging, and student-centered approach that contributes to a healthy and fun Admissions culture.
This is a full-time, exempt and benefit eligible position.
