Job Description

Rutherford County Schools Forest City-Dunbar Elementary School – Forest City, North Carolina.

Title I Tutor is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-centered individual to provide targeted academic interventions for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

This position works closely with classroom teachers and school leadership to support students who need additional instruction in reading and/or math through small-group interventions. The ideal candidate is patient, organized, and passionate about helping every child achieve academic success.

• Hours: 29.9 hours per week
• Employment: Part-time – Job Ends at the conclusion of the  School Year

• At least 48 semester hours of college coursework from an accredited college or university
• Ability to work effectively with elementary-aged students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with school staff
• Provide small-group and individual academic interventions in reading and mathematics
• Implement instructional lessons and intervention programs under the direction of classroom teachers and school administration
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of interventions
• Collaborate with teachers to identify student needs and adjust instructional support
• Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment that promotes student confidence and success
• Assist with progress monitoring and other Title I documentation as needed
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all students
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal

• Experience working with elementary-aged children
• Knowledge of evidence-based reading and/or math interventions
• Experience supporting students in small-group instructional settings
