Manufacturing Product Engineer - Data Center VSM & New Product Launches

Forest City, NC, USA – Full Time – On-site
Job Summary:
This role supports the Data Center value stream, leading new product introductions (NPI/NPL) and driving manufacturing excellence throughout the product lifecycle. It serves as a key link between product engineering, manufacturing, and operations, ensuring efficient, high‑quality, and cost‑effective production processes.
- Lead and support new product introductions and launches (NPI/NPL), including design reviews, DFM/DFA, production readiness, line set‑up, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and production ramp‑up.
- Act as manufacturing engineer for Data Center products, ensuring alignment with business and customer requirements and serving as a technical liaison across teams.
- Define, implement, and continuously optimize manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling, and launch plans, and manage timelines and risk mitigation.
- Monitor, analyze, and improve operational KPIs (yield, cycle time, throughput), troubleshoot production issues using root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive and sustain continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and optimize process, material, and product performance.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams, including leading supplier evaluations and improvement initiatives.
- Lead engineering initiatives for Fluid Conveyance products, covering development, enhancements, lifecycle management, and cost reduction.
- Develop and validate new products through structured testing, performance analysis, and data‑driven technical reporting using advanced engineering tools and methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal standards, and customer expectations in a high‑volume, high‑mix manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably extrusion, hose, or polymer processes.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and drive cross‑functional collaboration from concept through implementation.
- Proficiency in CAD systems, ERP platforms (preferably SAP), and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience with extrusion or textile hose manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with braiding, coiling, or vulcanization equipment and related technologies.
- Experience with SAP systems.
