- Collection Services Assistant (Electronic Resources) I
Department name and location:
Collection Services Department, Tran Library, Forest Grove Campus
Purpose of position:
To provide assistance to the Electronic Resources Librarian. With the Electronic Resources Librarian, you’ll be assisting in solving access issues and managing/organizing electronic resources.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Core Duties
- Assist with library database maintenance, including checking and updating descriptions of library holdings.
- Use Excel to access information for researching status of library holdings and reporting findings.
- Assist in special projects.
- Work at computer for extended periods of time
- Secondary Duties include
- Pushing heavy book carts, reading, stooping and repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and arms.
- Process books, CDs, DVDs, and other materials to prepare them for check-out.
- Receive, process, and shelve periodicals.
- Locate library resources using the library catalog and call numbers.
- Move books and other library resources around in department and on shelves

Length of employment:
Typically, Fall and Spring terms, with option to return for the following year based on performance and position availability. Sometimes, additional work during winter (J-term) or Summer may be available. Currently looking for candidates to work 8hrs per week, Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9am-5pm.
Wage rate:
Library tier I: $16.80. In subsequent years of employment, based on performance and knowledge/duties, there may be an opportunity to advance to assistant II and III positions, with associated wage increases.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing complex, repetitive tasks

- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office
