Title of Position: NWS - TRIO Peer Mentor
Department Name, location of department: TRIO Program Office, Clark Hall, Forest Grove Campus
Purpose of Position: This is an in-person, part- to full-time role that will serve multiple functions. Peer mentors will provide student insight on the SSS College Success course planning, help designing and eventually lead SSS workshops, help develop mentoring cohorts, and serve asambassadors to help prospective participants understand the potential benefits of becoming a TRIO scholars.
Length of employment: Summer 2026 with the option to continue into academic year.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help develop social media platforms and strategy for program recruitment
- Provide insight on course plans for upcoming SSS Student Success Courses.
- Help develop Fall 2026 workshop series for TRIO participants
- Assist with promotional material creation and distribution
- Help develop mentoring cohort process and functionality
- Performs other duties as assigned

QualificationsGeneral
Qualifications:
- Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing preferred; second-semester freshman possible.
- In good academic standing, with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Direct participant experience in a TRIO program is highly desired, or at least experience with challenges familiar to SSS participants.
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated interest in supporting the well-being and success of peers.
- Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment.
- Working conditions are a general office environment with public contact. Office hours are Monday-Friday from 9-5.
