FWS - ELC Before​/After Care Assistant

This position is only open to current Pacific University Students.

Purpose of Position: The Early Learning Community (ELC) – a campus-based early childhood learning environment for children age 3-10 – seeks classroom assistants to work as part of the teaching team for the Before and/or After Care program, weekdays approximately 7:00-9:00am and/or 3:00-5:00pm. The ELC is located on the lower level of Berglund Hall on the Forest Grove Campus.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: In cooperation with and under the guidance of ELC teachers, assistant will:

• Assist in supervision, care, and constructive play of children.
• Complete light housekeeping tasks such as the service of snack, dishwashing, laundry, and general clean up from the school day.
• Prepare classroom materials for teachers in advance of the next day’s planned activities.

Note:

• This job spans the entire academic year (Fall Semester, January Term, and Spring Semester) with the possibility of work in July during our Summer Camp program.
• The pay rate for this position is $16.80 per hour.

General

Qualifications:

Demonstrates responsibility and accountability as a student and community member. Individuals who are 18 years or older must enroll in the State of Oregon Central Background Registry. Additional child care trainings, such as First Aid + CPR, may be completed during the onboarding process / working hours.
