Dual Language Spanish Language Arts - 8th Grade; FTE

Teacher - Classroom

The Teacher promotes and develops successful learning for students, performs instructional and related duties in accordance with District Policies and terms of the teacher contract. The Teacher also maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students. The Teacher reports to the Principal or Designated Administrator and does not supervise any employees.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide a variety of situational appropriate instructional techniques and methods
• Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to use research-based principles of effective instruction
• Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective student learning
• Prepare effectively for class
• Develop and communicate appropriate progress grading standards to students
• Develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships
• Provide documentation of student progress
• Build motivation and interest in learning
• Maintain an ongoing personal program of professional growth and development
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal and/or superintendent

Other Responsibilities:

• Maintain consistent and predictable attendance to meet the requirements of the position
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of education
• Languages:
  
  Bilingual REQUIRED (English/Spanish; speaking, reading, and writing)
• Skills:
  
  Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or district patrons
• Knowledge:
  Knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education code
• Abilities:
  Demonstrates command of oral and written English language;
  Ability to work collaboratively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers;
  Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds in English, Spanish, or other languages related to the job;
  Ability to work harmoniously with others
• Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing
  
  Required:
  
  Holds an appropriate license from Teacher Standards and Practices Commission in the State of Oregon and the required endorsement for the content area and grade level.
