This is a paid, Federal Work Study position.
A Military/Veteran Student Ambassador is a student leader who
- Ensures the space is tidy in the lounge and storage areas
- Establishes relationships with and supports the students, clubs, and organizations connected with military-connected and veteran students
- Connects students with and promotes resources at Pacific and in the community
- Assists other student leaders in organizing and implementing projects and events
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Staff and maintain the Veteran’s Lounge
- Greet and present a welcoming atmosphere to everyone who comes into the lounge
- Maintain a minimum of four (4) office hours weekly
- Programming
- Assist in the organization and implementation of events hosted through military-connected & veteran student services
- Assist in gathering student feedback regarding programming, services, and events
- Attend and support additional Student Engagement and Inclusion events and activities, as able
- Assist with social media related to the military-connected & veteran students
- Answer student questions and promote services/resources available at Pacific and in the community
- Develop collaborative relationships with the Undergraduate Student Senate (USS), ACE Board, and campus partners
- Administrative
- Complete office hours log and program evaluations for events and projects
- Assist in completing clerical duties and special assignments, as needed
- Attend all required meetings, retreats, and trainings
- Check-ins with advisor
- Team meetings
- Additional meetings relevant to position, when possible
- Practice effective communication with advisor relating to schedule, job duties, and academic progress

Length of Employment:
Minimum 4 in-person hours per week; maximum 6 hours per week

QualificationsRequired
- Be registered for academic year
- Be in good disciplinary and academic standing (cumulative GPA of at least 2.0)
Preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Dependable, organized, and flexible
- Ability to follow directions and work independently and as part of a team
- Basic familiarity with or willingness to learn spreadsheets and word processing software such as MS Excel/Google spreadsheets, MS Word/Google docs
- Interest in advocacy, inclusion, and working with people with diverse backgrounds, including military-connected and veteran students
