From time-to-time the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders hires licensed speech-language pathologists in part-time positions to supervise graduate students within one of our community partner sites.

Our needs vary with respect to specific clinical expertise and populations. We work in reciprocal partnerships to serve individuals with communication support needs who might not otherwise receive speech-language pathology services. We serve clients across the lifespan in their community across a range of areas including, but not limited to: childhood speech and language development, literacy, cleft palate and craniofacial conditions, autism and social communication, bilingual populations (Spanish), brain injury, stroke, dementia, voice and resonance, and gender affirming communication.

Previous experience with supervision of graduate students or clinical fellows strongly preferred.

Individual works closely with School of CSD faculty and off campus site personnel to implement speech-language pathology services in community-based settings on a part-time basis (2-3 days per week). Populations served varies depending on site assignment and individual's knowledge and experience. Individual provides clinical instruction and supervision to MS SLP students throughout clinical practicum experiences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains strong relationship with partnership site through effective communication and collaboration
  • Ensures excellence in service delivery
  • Demonstrates consistent use of evidence based practice
  • Provides direct clinical services
  • Provides instruction and support to graduate student clinicians
  • Employs best practice in clinical supervision
  • Conducts regular clinical evaluation of graduate student clinicians
  • Communicates consistently and effectively with School CSD faculty
  • Upholds the vision, mission and values of the University, College, School and clinical site
  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with clinical supervision of graduate students and/or clinical fellows.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who contribute to the diversity of the faculty and reflect the diversity of clients served.
  • Preferred candidates are bicultural and/or bilingual, ideally Spanish/English.
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Oregon (by satrt date)
  • Current American Speech-Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Successful completion of federal background check and any other background checks as required by the site.
  • Individuals must show evidence of clinical expertise in speech-language pathology suitable for the populations served in our outreach programs.
  • Candidates must meet minimum requirement in continuing education in the area of clinical education and/or supervision.
  • Minimum of 2-years SLP experience, post certification
  • Completion of Continuing Education in Supervision of Graduate Students in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Reliable transportation to travel to clinical site(s)
  • Eligible to work in the United States

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bicultural and/or bilingual, Spanish preferred
  • 5-years clinical experience as an SLP
  • Evidence of program development and/or assessment experience
  • Experience with clinical supervision and/or teaching
