About the Opportunity

Chaucer Foods is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations while building a high-performing team of Production Leads and Production Operators. This leader maintains a strong presence on the production floor, coaches employees, removes barriers, reinforces standards, and delivers results without compromising safety, food safety, or quality.

Success is measured by the performance, engagement, and development of the team—not by individual production output. Every leader is expected to model our core principles:
Safety First, Quality Always, Operational Excellence, Respect, and Communication.

  • Lead daily production activities, labor allocation, startups, changeovers, and shift handoffs across assigned departments.
  • Directly supervise, coach, and develop Production Lead I and Production Lead II employees while managing performance, attendance, accountability, and development planning.
  • Build a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, PPE, GMP, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Ensure products are manufactured in compliance with HACCP, CCP, sanitation, food safety, quality, and documentation standards.
  • Monitor production results and remove barriers affecting productivity, waste, equipment utilization, staffing, and operational consistency.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, Warehouse, Human Resources, Safety, and Plant Leadership to resolve constraints and implement corrective actions.
  • Champion standardized work and continuous improvement through audits, floor observations, production data, SOPs, visual instructions, and training materials.
  • Review timecards and production records; maintain accurate safety, quality, downtime, staffing, and performance reporting.
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and accountable workplace where employees are encouraged to speak up about safety, quality, and operational concerns.
Required Qualificiations
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing or food production, including leading frontline employees and developing teams.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
  • Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, food safety, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, address performance concerns, resolve conflict, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and communication skills in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience in food manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • HACCP, GMP, or other food safety certification.
Physical Requirements

With or without reasonable accommodation, the employee must be able to perform the position’s essential functions, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and moving throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods; working in refrigerated, ambient, warm, and production-intensive environments; lifting up to 50 pounds as required; and safely wearing required PPE.
