Working Hours:
7:15 AM - 3:15 PM, from Monday to Friday
Student Age Group: 9th-12th Grade
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and educational support to students in grades 9-12.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Provide effective behavioral and classroom management support.
- Work with students who may have emotional, behavioral, developmental, or other specialized learning needs.
- Monitor student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional progress.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, counselors, and related service providers.
- Maintain accurate student records and required special education documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and other school-related activities.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and educational needs.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License in one or more of the following areas: EBD (Emotional or Behavioral Disorders), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders), ABS (Academic Behavioral Strategist).
- Experience working with at-risk students, preferably at the secondary level.
- Strong experience and skills in behavior support and management.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary school team.
- Experience working with high school students is preferred.
- The district may be able to support an Out-of-Field Licensure Placement for qualified candidates who do not currently hold the exact required license.
