About Us

JP Ecommerce has been named one of the top-ten fastest-growing businesses in Minnesota by Inc. 5000 for the past four years in a row. We provide customers with high-quality bedding through our brand Bare Home. As a $100M+ e-commerce textile company, we source premium products from China, India, Pakistan, and Turkey while also manufacturing cotton products in the USA.

We’ve grown from a small startup to a team of more than 90 employees, and we’re continuing to expand as we scale our operations to support 30% year-over-year growth. Our collaborative, entrepreneurial culture means your work directly impacts how we buy, plan, and deliver product across our brands.

Position Overview

We’re looking for an experienced
Buyer
to join our Supply Chain team. In this role you’ll own purchasing for assigned product categories—placing and managing purchase orders, negotiating pricing and terms, and partnering with vendors here and overseas to keep the right product flowing at the right cost and the right time.

This is a decision-making role for someone who has spent a few years in the buying cycle and is ready to take ownership. You’ll balance inventory, margin, and service level; turn order and sell-through data into sound buying decisions; and help shape how we purchase and plan as we scale. You’ll also serve as a resource and mentor to our Associate Buyer as the team grows.

What

You’ll Do Purchasing & Buying Ownership
  • Own the purchasing cycle for assigned categories—create, place, and manage purchase orders against agreed quantities, pricing, and delivery terms
  • Make sound buying decisions that balance inventory levels, margin, lead times, and service to the customer
  • Manage open-to-buy and reorder strategy to prevent both stockouts and overstock
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and keep systems updated as orders move through the buying cycle
Vendor Management & Negotiation
  • Own day-to-day relationships with domestic and overseas suppliers, including sources in China, India, Pakistan, and Turkey
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and minimums to improve cost and reliability
  • Hold vendors accountable to delivery timelines and order terms; elevate and resolve issues before they affect inventory
  • Track and assess supplier performance, and help identify new or alternate sourcing options
Demand, Inventory & Assortment Planning
  • Forecast demand and plan buys by category using order history, sell-through, and seasonality
  • Analyze inventory positions, reorder points, and landed cost to drive purchasing decisions
  • Partner with planning to align purchasing with replenishment needs and growth targets
  • Monitor margin and pricing inputs, and flag risks or opportunities to leadership
Data, Reporting & Analysis
  • Build and maintain analyses in Excel—including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and pivot tables—to organize purchasing and inventory data
  • Pull, clean, and interpret order, inventory, and vendor data to support buying decisions
  • Prepare reporting on order status, lead times, inventory positions, and vendor performance
  • Spot patterns and inconsistencies in the data and raise the questions that matter
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Coordinate with warehouse, planning, finance, and marketing on incoming orders, receiving priorities, and product launches
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to the Associate Buyer, sharing best practices and reviewing work as needed
  • Lead and support special purchasing projects, seasonal volume, and process improvements
What You Need Must-Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Retail Management, Economics, or related field); an Associate’s degree plus relevant experience will also be considered
  • 3–5 years of experience in buying, purchasing, merchandising, category management, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated experience managing purchase orders and vendor relationships through the full buying cycle
  • Experience negotiating pricing, terms, and timelines with suppliers
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and pivot tables, for organizing and analyzing data
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented, accurate approach
  • Ability to…
