Early Years Educator / Nursery Practitioner (Level
3) – Forest School
Location:
Longhope, Gloucestershire
Salary: £28,080 – £30,500+ per annum (DOE)
Hours:
Full-time or Part-time available (e.g. 40 hours over 4 days)
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our unique Forest School nursery setting in Longhope.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nature-based, outdoor learning environment, supporting children aged 0–5 years to explore, learn, and develop through hands-on experiences.
We welcome newly qualified practitioners who are eager to begin their Early Years career in a nurturing and inspiring setting, as well as experienced candidates with a love for outdoor education.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & Development
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities aligned with the EYFS, with a strong focus on outdoor and nature-based learning
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, and independence through Forest School principles
- Key Person Duties
- Act as a Key Person, building strong relationships with children and their families
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, supporting their individual development
- Safeguarding & Welfare
- Maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, health, and safety, particularly in an outdoor environment
- Ensure children are safe, supported, and encouraged to take appropriate risks in their learning
- Personal Care
- Support children with daily routines including meals, personal care, and outdoor activities in all weather conditions
- Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive, inclusive, and inspiring Forest School environment
- Engage with parents and external professionals when required
Position Requirements
Tech School,
Less than 1 Year
work experience Requirements
A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent)
Good knowledge of the EYFS framework (training and support provided for newly qualified candidates)
A genuine passion for outdoor play and learning
Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting is desirable but not essential for newly qualified applicants
A clear, enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
