Job Title:Personnel Assistant I
This position performs a variety of general personnel clerical tasks in areas such as employee records, benefits, education, training, employment/staffing, compensation, employee labor relations, and equal employment opportunity/affirmative action. The Person nel Assistant may conduct surveys and update manual and automated personnel records.
01261 PERSONNEL ASSISTANT I
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform general personnel clerical tasks including management of employee records, benefits, training, and staffing information.
- Assist with compensation, benefits, staffing/employment, EEO procedures, and policy administration under general supervision.
- Exercise discretion and, where necessary, limited judgment while performing duties.
- Operate general office equipment such as typewriter, personal computer, copier, adding machine, and facsimile.

QUALIFICATIONS- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education level.
- Operational knowledge of DoD identification issuance policies and procedures; ability to process s for building and system access.
- Minimum 2 years of administrative military personnel experience preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
- Must be a U.S. citizen; eligible for Federal clearance.
- NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries) and favorable FBI fingerprint check required, or eDoD‑determined equivalent investigation.
- Must possess a valid U.S. state driver’s license applicable to the type and class of vehicle operated.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English, including comprehension of instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence.
- Strong reasoning ability: organize work, define and solve problems, prioritize tasks, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
