Location:
Forest Park, GA Duration: 3+ years
Design and modify 2D AutoCAD drawings for Transmission & Distribution electrical substations. Prepare engineering drawings, material specifications, and drawing packages while supporting safety, quality, scheduling, cost, standardization, and FAC-008 compliance. Collaborate with engineers, construction, field services, project management, and maintenance teams. Occasional site visits.
Key Responsibilities- Create/modify 2D AutoCAD substation physical design drawings.
- Design layouts including Foundations, Grounding, Conduits, Switchgear, Control Buildings, and Electrical Bus.
- Develop drawings from single-line diagrams.
- Prepare/transmit drawing packages and material specifications.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and support construction/maintenance activities.
- Education:
Bachelor's (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Engineering Technology) OR Associate's + 5+ years related experience OR High School + 8+ years related experience. - Experience:
- AutoCAD 2D drafting (required/preferred).
- Electrical Transmission/Distribution Substation design or utility experience.
- Knowledge of substation equipment, electrical power systems, and utility grid operations.
- Familiarity with IEEE, NESC, NEC, OSHA standards.
- Experience with TEAMS, STOMP, MAXIMO, SCST Vault, Autodesk Vault (preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Team player with customer-focused mindset.
- High attention to detail and commitment to mistake-free designs, safety, and operational excellence.
