Job Description

General

Purpose:

Commitment to outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.

• Coordinate shipping and packing activities with production.
• Scale and ship orders on a timely and accurate basis.
• Collect all orders at a central point and accurately label them.
• Use the computer and scanning gun to move products, ensuring that poultry combos are accountable and ready for shipping.
• Produce packing slips, invoices and purchase orders accurately for Shipping Clerk.
• Interact with teammates to ensure all orders are packed efficiently and timely.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
• Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOPs and GMPs.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes to the needs of production.
• Must be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees’ stations (less than 2 feet).
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift.
• Must wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy.
• Be able to work overtime when needed.

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to sit. Frequently must squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head, and reach forward. Daily uses hand strength to grasp tools, supplies and equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent to the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Often work in dusty, humid, and heated environments; as well as cold, moist environments.
