Position PurposeThe Outside Sales & Field Support Specialist serves as a direct extension of the Racing Radios brand in the field. This role combines relationship management, technical support, product demonstration, and event presence to ensure customers experience consistent, high-quality communication solutions wherever they operate.
Rather than functioning as a traditional sales role, this position bridges multiple areas of the business — sales, service, production, and customer success — helping customers move seamlessly from product selection to installation, use, and ongoing support.
This individual represents Racing Radios at events, trade shows, and customer facilities while also contributing internally to product preparation, system configuration, and service operations.
How This Role Fits Into the OrganizationThis role operates at the intersection of sales, service & technical support, production & operations, and customer experience. The position is highly visible externally and plays a meaningful role in shaping customer perception of Racing Radios.
Key Areas of ContributionCustomer & Relationship Development
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and teams
- Identify opportunities with prospective customers at events and within industry networks
- Provide product education, demonstrations, and recommendations based on operational needs
Field Support & Event Presence
- Travel to racing venues, trade shows, and industry events
- Support installation, setup, troubleshooting, and repairs in live environments
- Represent Racing Radios professionally in high-visibility customer settings
Sales & Order Support
- Assist customers with quoting, product selection, and order processing
- Coordinate internally to ensure accurate fulfillment and delivery expectations
- Provide post-sale follow-up and ongoing support
Technical & Operational Support
- Assemble, program, test, and quality-check communications equipment
- Support service department diagnostics and repairs
- Contribute to readiness of systems prior to field deployment
This position involves a mix of office, production, and field environments, including climate-controlled facilities and outdoor race venues. Travel and active physical movement are routine aspects of the role.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in customer service, sales, technical service, or related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet DOT travel requirements
- Motorola Sales Associate Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ongoing product, technical, and industry training
- Customers view this individual as a trusted and reliable resource
- Events and field interactions strengthen Racing Radios’ reputation
- Customers receive seamless support from inquiry through long-term use
- Internal teams experience strong coordination and communication
