Senior Mechanic – Heavy Equipment
Location:
4460 Moreland Ave, Conley, GA 30288
Typical schedule:
Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 5 PM (overtime eligible)
Pay: $29 – $35+ per hour, plus quarterly branch performance bonus incentive
Hiring immediately; paid weekly.

- Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic; background in heavy construction equipment or rental required
- Advanced experience with major & minor repairs of hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel and gas engines on construction equipment and delivery fleet
- Experience with Tier 4 engines and DPF, SCR, DEF, and EGR aftertreatment systems highly preferred
- Extensive experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment
- Must have the necessary tools to perform the scope of equipment repairs
- Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications
- Advanced understanding of schematics, computer diagnostic software, and welding methods
- Diesel laptop experience required
- Exceptional organizational skills and efficient time‑management techniques
- Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
- Safety oriented, maintaining industry and Sunstate safety standards while performing equipment repairs
- Collaborate to establish daily work priorities of shop, mentoring and training an apprentice technician
- Demonstrate, perform, and instruct advanced troubleshooting and repair techniques for equipment
- Teach repair of gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drive trains, including manual and power‑shift transmissions on equipment and trucks
- Serve as liaison between shop and office, addressing all equipment issues (breakdowns, customer damage, etc.)
- Assist with key decisions regarding major equipment repairs, ensuring warranty and customer damage issues are promptly addressed and communicated to district service and branch managers
- Facilitate effective communication with shop via huddles, meetings, and one‑on‑one interactions
- Ensure adequate availability of essential shop supplies for seamless operation
