Job Title: Diesel Technician

Location: Forest Park, GA 30297

Salary Range: $35.00 - $65.00 Hourly

Diesel Technicians perform repairs on diesel trucks and equipment as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, following dealership and factory standards. They diagnose malfunctions, communicate with the parts department, document all work, and ensure vehicles remain clean and safe.

• Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair on diesel trucks or equipment.
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts, save and tag parts of the job if under warranty or requested by the customer.
• Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicate with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if the outlined work is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician.
• Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
• Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Supervise work of any apprentice diesel technicians as assigned.
• Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Ensure that customers’ vehicles are kept clean and notify service advisor immediately of any change in appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Maintain a neat and clean shop area for safety of all diesel technicians.
• Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals; return them to the proper place in the same condition as received.
• Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right‑to‑Know.
• Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner and report any safety issues immediately to management.

• Hard‑working diesel technicians willing to learn the trade.
• Experience with senior technicians to gain exposure to multiple levels of diesel repairs.
• Online and instructor‑led training provided.
• High school diploma preferred or completion of vocational/technical school.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with 1 to 2 years of experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a CDL license.
• Must have base required tools or obtain them within 30 days.
• Major tooling provided in house.

Safety shoes are required on day one of employment. Employees must wear approved safety footwear at all times while working in designated shop and service areas.
