Overview
Field Service Technician IV/Documentation Specialist – ECS
Location:
Forest Park, IL. Salary: $63,000 - $67,000 per year.
- Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains products/equipment.
- Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures.
- Develops procedures and processes to prevent potential equipment issues.
- Develops lifecycle support documentation including maintenance and safety procedures based on engineering, vendor, and COTS information.
- Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers' needs.
- Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures; plans and accomplishes goals; may lead and direct the work of others.
- 6-8+ years of experience in the field or related area.
- US citizen or Green Card Holder and must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in area of specialty, or equivalent experience in related field.
- Willing to travel up to 20% of the time; available for occasional off-hours support.
- Experience drafting/updating technical documentation for machinery; verify and validate documentation with engineering and COTS documentation.
- Experience with maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical/electro-mechanical/electrical/electronic systems; knowledge of PLCs.
- Strong written and verbal communication of technical guidance and failure analysis.
- Ability to interface with internal/external customers to resolve equipment and system problems.
- Understanding of life-cycle support methodologies; basic industrial control knowledge.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office;
Excel.
- Guide and assist remotely located technicians using fault isolation techniques and on-line diagnostic tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities based on customer expectations and impact.
- Process improvement experience (Six Sigma DMAIC) or lifecycle support methodology.
- Trend analysis of equipment failures and recommended actions to reduce failures.
- Experience writing Preventive Maintenance Routes and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
