Responsibilities- Provide IT systems administration support in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Manage and maintain core services including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory (AD), and server replication.
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex issues involving integration of hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
- Implement and manage data RAID, backup, and recovery technologies.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain compliance with security requirements.
- Install, configure, and document software applications requested by end users.
- Provide user and system documentation, process training, and ongoing technical support.
- Participate in on‑call or after‑hours system maintenance as required to support 24x7 operations.
- Travel up to 5% domestically based on business needs.
- Gain experience maintaining a diverse set of operating systems in an air‑gapped environment.
- Expand knowledge in DoD cybersecurity compliance and mission support systems.
- Opportunity to obtain DoDD 8140 / 8570 Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) with company support.
- University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- At least 2 years of experience with some of the following:
Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, Veeam, MySQL, Windows or Linux system administration, and network administration. - Ability to meet Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start date.
- Linux system administration experience highly desired.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Operating System Certification (Microsoft, Red Hat, etc.).
- Experience with NISPOM or DoD/RMF compliance.
- Windows Desktop and Server management.
- Data storage (NAS/SAN) solutions.
- IT project lifecycle management.
- VMware vCenter, vSphere, and ESX.
- Microsoft WSUS and Exchange.
- Supporting software, simulation, and hardware engineering environments.
- High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
- Scripting/Automation (Power Shell, Bash).
The salary range for this role is $68,900 – $131,100 USD. Hired applicants may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off and holidays. Specific benefits depend on the business unit and collective‑bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may also be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs, depending on the level of the position and whether it is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.
