Materials Manager

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Purpose: The Materials Manager supports the company’s bottom line by overseeing all materials used in the complex. This includes inventory control, procurement, logistics, and production scheduling to ensure materials and work‑in‑process (WIP) meet production needs.

• Manage inventory of all supplies, ingredients, raw meat, and materials
• Oversee inbound/outbound logistics and schedule freight
• Order materials to meet production needs and maintain stocking levels
• Manage procurement and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Enter and maintain accurate SAP data (BOM, MMG) for purchases, receipts, and material usage
• Track freight expenses, inbound loads, and material variances
• Support production scheduling by evaluating WIP requirements
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and corporate teams on priorities, testing, and new products
• Provide accurate shipping instructions to all locations
• Plan and maintain operational budgets and work to improve cost efficiency
• Ensure compliance with corporate purchasing policies
• Perform other duties as assigned; overtime as required

• 3–5 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Logistics, or related field preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Tyson systems (SAP, MMG, BOM, PPS)
• Strong communication and math skills
• Travel: 1–12 trips per year

• Standing/Walking: 25%
• Sitting: 75%

• Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, odors, electrical hazards, and potential strains
• Work independently and with others
