Assembly Manager

Forest, MS

Overview

Oversee assembly department providing direction, advice and guidance so that the departmental employees can effectively complete their assignments and consistently meet customer, company and department objectives. Monitor overall production performance and prioritize kaizen (PDCA approach) to improve OEE and Departmental KPIs. Calculate monthly/yearly man power requirement based on customer forecast, production line specification, OEE, and utilization rate. Also generate automatic man power allocation schedule based on the man power calculation data.

Oversee department personnel skill level, turnover ratio, direct / temp ratio to meet company's objectives. Develop and implement effective and efficient preventive and corrective actions Create and manage department policy, capital and expense budget, make Vs buy decisions on procurement of equipment/tools. Develop job descriptions and train Supervisors / Engineers. Project and task management to meet global company targets and internal targets Must be able to work extended hours when required Will be reporting to DGM of Manufacturing.

and Experience

B.S in Engineering [Mechanical / Industrial/Electrical] Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in a lean manufacturing environment, A PLUS to have experience in the automotive industry with assembly parts (welding). EXCEL / POWERPOINT skills (above intermediate level) is required Knowledge on man power calculation & work load analysis, OEE, and Expense planning Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations / training to 75+ people Strong problem solving skills with strong root cause analysis and standardized measures Lean manufacturing, kaizen, people management and training skills Knowledge of Resistance / Projection Welding, MIG welding, and automated assemblies MS office 2003 or higher, especially EXCEL, POWERPOINT, Visio
