Job Overview
This is a starter position in the Refrigeration Department responsible for cleaning and maintaining ammonia refrigeration air units and HVAC/MAU units on the roof, changing filters, cleaning roof area, and shadowing Refrigeration Technicians to receive training for future positions. The role includes creating maintenance notifications, work orders, and confirming time in the SAP system, as well as performing related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities- Clean and wash ammonia refrigeration air units and HVAC/MAU units on the roof
- Change filters and clean roof area
- Shadow Refrigeration Technicians to learn the ammonia refrigeration system
- Create maintenance notifications and work orders
- Confirm time in the SAP system
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- At least 1 year of maintenance experience within the past two years
- Must be able to work in hot, cold, and wet environments
- Capable of pushing, pulling, or lifting over 40 lbs. and climbing ladders above 10 feet
- Able to walk, stand, and perform work on a concrete floor for approximately 8.5 hours/day
- Pass a Level 4 pulmonary function test and maintain physical certification annually
- Be clean‑shaven to accommodate APR/SCBA equipment
- Member of the Plant Hazmat Team
- Complete refrigeration and general maintenance computer‑based training
- Rehiring criteria: applicants must not have worked for Tyson more than three times prior and have completed at least 180 days since last employment
- Willing to perform the physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation
6 days a week: off during the week, with required weekend and holiday work. Shift is 2ND SHIFT. May require rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
